Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how Joyce Nefkens (“I”, “me”) handles personal data when you visit joycenefkens.com or contact me. I process your data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian privacy law.

What data I collect

• Contact form: your name, brand or company, email address, type of content, budget and your message.
• Email: the details you share when you email me directly.
• Technical data: like any website, the server automatically logs basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is needed to deliver and secure the website.

Why I use your data

• To answer your request and discuss a possible collaboration (steps prior to a contract, art. 6.1.b GDPR).
• To deliver and invoice the work we agree on (performance of a contract and legal obligations, art. 6.1.b and 6.1.c GDPR).
• To keep the website running safely (legitimate interest, art. 6.1.f GDPR).

I never sell your data and I don't use it for newsletters or advertising without your explicit consent.

How long I keep it

Contact requests that don't lead to a collaboration are deleted within 24 months. Data linked to a collaboration is kept as long as needed for the project and for the period required by Belgian accounting and tax law (currently up to 10 years for invoices).

Who receives your data

Only the service providers I need to run this website and my business, such as my web hosting provider, my email provider and my accountant. They may only use your data on my instructions.

Embedded content and third parties

• YouTube: my videos are embedded in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube (Google) only receives data when a video loads or plays. See Google's privacy policy.
• Google Fonts: the fonts on this website may be loaded from Google's servers, which means your IP address is shared with Google.
• TikTok and Instagram: links to my profiles and videos open the platform itself. Their own privacy policies apply there.

Some of these providers are located outside the European Economic Area. In that case your data is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Cookies

This website only uses functional cookies that are needed for it to work. I don't use analytics or advertising cookies. Should that change, I will ask for your consent first.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing and to receive your data in a portable format. Send your request to collab@joycenefkens.com and I will reply within one month.

If you believe your data is not handled correctly, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.

Changes

I may update this policy when my website or services change. The latest version is always available on this page.
